The MailChimp plugin enables your customers to subscribe to your MailChimp email list, either through a form in the footer of your shop or automatically when they place an order.
There are a few key bits of information that you'll need to get the MailChimp plugin up and running:
This can be found by clicking on your username at the top right of your MailChimp account and then clicking on 'Profile'. Then click on Extras > API Keys and then on the next page click the 'Create a Key' button. That will create a new API key, that looks similar to 65889ce3ddf391d18172df64fdc0f836-us1
There are two options for adding lists to the plugin, you can either give users the options to subscribe manually by entering their email address (this is the Newsletter List ID field or you can enter a list ID in the Ecommerce List ID field to automatically subscribe customers to the list when they complete an order on your shop. You can of course enter the same list ID in both fields. List IDs can be found by click 'Lists' at the top of your MailChimp admin area, then clicking on the name of the relevant list. Then click Settings > List name and defaults. On the right hand side you'll see your list ID, something similar to 7a58c95e3c
